Spring signals many things to many people. One of the most popular items on the "to do" list is to get back into shape. Those who take this healthy concept to the next level are those who participate in The Ironman Eagleman contest located in Cambridge Md. While I envy these energetic, driven people, I have no desire to be one of them. And, I am sure, that some of their significant others feel the same way. So here's to them and how they can also enjoy this busy weekend.
Combsberry Bed and Breakfast, located in Oxford, Md., a short distance from Cambridge, Easton and St. Michaels can be a haven for those who want to support their athletes but also want to have some fun themselves. Public golf courses can be found at The River Marsh Golf Club, The Easton Club and The Hog Neck Arena. Fine dining is available at The Inn @ Perry Cabin, Mason's in Easton, and Pope's Tavern in Oxford. While staying in Oxford, ride the oldest continuously running ferry in the U.S. known as The Oxford-Bellevue Ferry and have fun discovering the colonial town following a map of "picket fences" displaying local artistic talents.
At the end of the day, return to the most romantic, waterfront B & B that you have ever experienced. Sleep on line dried sheets that have been hand ironed and wake to the smell of a full country breakfast. It could very well be an omlette filled with crab caught at the end of our pier.
