Do you want to have the perfect wedding and then escape to the perfect honeymoon hideaway? Combsberry Inn, located on Marland's Eastern Shore is the place for you. Last weekend, we had a couple check in around 10:00pm. It was an interesting senario. Last summer, I had a phone call from a Bed and Breakfast near us, wanting to know if we had an available room. They had double booked. We did have a room available and the couple arrived at our doorstep an hour later, tired and apprehensive about what they were going to find. They had traveled from the Baltimore area, two hours south and then another hour north to reach us. Upon checking out, they were so happy that they had found us and ended up coming again. They had not been familiar with the Oxford/Easton area but soon fell in love with the laid back attitude combined with the fine dining available in this area.
I received a phone call from them, booking a week in August for their honeymoon. I greeted them late at night with a quick hug. They told me that throughout the whole day, there was one thought on their mind, how to get through the day and head to the Eastern Shore of Maryland. They had the ceremony, ate their way through a seven course dinner and I quote "got rid of the relatives and guests". They looked at one another as they were crossing the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and smiled, "now our the fun begins".
As we greeted one another @ the most romantic inn in Maryland, I received the highest compliment that I can receive, they looked at me and said "now we are home and can relax".
This couple took pictures of every detail that can be found in Talbot, County located an hour and half from Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, Md. Their favorite place was the hammock, overlooking the scenic creek filled with heron, osprey, swan and geese. Upon check out, they informed us that we should be ready to turn over the reins to them in five years because they had decided that Combsberry Inn was where they wanted to come and stay permanently.
Combsberry Inn is a 30 acre waterfront property located near St. Michaels, Easton and Oxford. Life is very good on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. This historic country inn dates back to the 1730's and perfectly blends the past to the future. Come and experience the peace and tranquility that everyone longs for and disconnect from the demands of the modern world.
